Testimonials from our Youth Soccer Program in Cy-Fair South

I was new to FFPS and becoming a head coach of a soccer team made me a little nervous. Coaching kids wasn't new but being the one calling the shots was. Every other sport I was ever involved in was always very competitive, parents even more so than the kids. When I signed my son up I still had no clue about what Fun Fair Positive Soccer really stood for and what it was all about. It wasn't until I was asked to be a coach and read through all of the coaching literature and attended the coaches certification training did I truly start to understand what the FFPS philosophies are. This is a great experience for ALL of the kids AND for the parents. The Ryan story is a great example of this. I have my own Ryan story experience this year. I have a player that has special needs. My parent called me after the first game to discuss with me whether his child was ready for team sports and asked me if I thought he should take his child out of soccer and wait until he was a little older. I asked him was his child excited when he got home - Yes, he called his family and friends to tell them all about his first game. We went on to discuss the different FFPS coaching philosophies, beliefs, and ideas. I convinced him to keep his child in FFPS soccer for another month. Many great experiences later we are near the last game of the season and he is still very much a part of the team.

Parents were very supportive this year and the coaches were consistently positive.

This season has been a positive experience for the kids and the parents.

I truly appreciate the *equal play* policy.

I've witnessed kids progressively started working or playing together cohesively as a team. They started to develop 'team work* as the season progressed.
